Story of the Best Practice
During the pandemic my work fulfilled almost the whole day, because I could see the things/devices I work with almost all of the day, working from home. Day by day this situation was becoming more and more overwhelming.
Since I had to devote most of my time to work, my physical activity almost disappeared.
In order to cope with this situation, I tried to think rationally, prepare myself for classes through searching new ideas, and developing my skills through the internet.
I think I wasn’t in need of psychological assistance, but I know my school was very supportive and in case of problems, teachers could find support.
I think, at least for me, one of the most important aspects of preventing burnout and depression was to stick to the weekly plans. I paid attention to different activities, like small celebrations (i.e. birthdays, family events), to have the vision.
I was spending my free time with my friends and family. We’d been travelling a lot, and even a one-day-trip was worth the effort. I also organized bike trips. My main motivation was not to give up and find my way in this situation.
Conclusion
What I learned from this period is that being well organized and focused may help us to cope with too many obligations both from the personal and professional side.
I also learned to appreciate contacts with friends and family.
Unfortunately I can’t see many positive aspects of the pandemic and remote teaching. Maybe one of them can be saving time and money, which I didn’t spend for the fuel :)
